It is mainly about the inability of Muslims to adapt and adjust to the new world, the world of information era. ABDEL-SAMAD believes that rigid Islamic world faced with such force of modernity, especially by Internet, that they had become « hysterical » (another term for violence). The author is of the opinion that this world must, sooner or later, mentally give in and accept the reality.

They represent a kind of power of citizens and can act as a mediator between the government and the people.
